Staff accommodation and housing

Dorchester is a thriving County Town in the beautiful County of Dorset, nearby is the World Heritage Coastline with its famous Chesil Beach. It is also at the heart of Thomas Hardy countryside with many of its famous landmarks being mentioned in the author’s books. It has some of the best schools in the country and with the larger coastal town of Weymouth nearby and Poole and Bournemouth along the coast there is some excellent shopping and entertainment on offer. Staff Only Scheme

Accommodation is provided on or adjacent to the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust site.

In general staff employed by the Trust should look to the general housing market for their housing needs. However, some staff groups will be provided with on–site accommodation, subject to availability.

These groups include all staff that are undergoing training, for example student nurses, student midwives and student radiographers.

Some categories of medical staff will also be provided with on–site accommodation. These include pre–registration house officers and those who are contracted to be a “compulsory resident”. Other staff groups may be provided with accommodation subject to availability.

To request accommodation please speak to your manager at the earliest opportunity. They will need to contact Medical Staffing to have an accommodation request form completed.
