Barnes Ward
Barnes Ward at Dorset County Hospital is a 29–bedded acute medical ward for elderly people. We have both make and female patients, but accommodation is arranged as single-sex bays with separate toilet and washing facilities.
Our team includes Sister Debbie Baxter, consultants Dr Tony Blake and Dr Peter Bruce-Jones, social worker Leanne Roland and ward clerk Penny Stevens. All staff wear name badges and will introduce themselves. You will have a named nurse who takes responsibility for your nursing care during your stay.
Our philosophy
To provide care and treatment to promote health, alleviate suffering and aim to improve quality of life. We try to ensure that all patients have equal access to health care, based on their needs. Patients and their family and friends will be treated with dignity, respect, honesty and compassion.
We welcome any comments or suggestions you may have about the ward or the care we provide.
